Colorado 2006

          After our trip to the Rockies in 2004, we wanted to try it again. We had missed some of the majestic views at Rocky Mountain National Park due to our attempts of self preservation as we came down the mountain in a sleet storm so we wanted to see if we could get a better view this time.

          On this trip we racked up the most miles to date, over 1400 in five days. Some of the mileage was caused by an unexpected three hour detour around a washed out road. That detour did however introduce us to Zoka’s, probably the best restaurant of any trip.

         We hit a lot of rain on the second day, but stayed fairly dry on the others. We drove south along the eastern side of the Rockies and back up the western side, wrapping up our last day in Colorado looking at the spectacular views we had missed out on in 2004.
